New Scouts

Pack 30 welcomes all youth in Kindergarten through 5th grade.

1. Fill-out the Pack 30 Enrollment form online - this will get you added to pack/den communications while you complete the rest of the registration steps below. Please note that we are a volunteer organization and manage incoming emails as we can, so you may note receive an immediate response.

2. Visit 1 Pack meeting and 1 Den meeting to make sure scouting is right for you.
   
   

3. Register and pay scout national and council fees online at scouting.org using this link, which enrolls your youth directly with Pack 30. Note that you can use your Google or Apple login credentials as an alternative to creating a new online scouting account for yourself.  

   • Please note that national and council scouting fees are on a rolling 12-month basis from the date you join.

   • Payment online through scouting.org is ~$175 (including an optional $15 for a Scout Life magazine subscription)
     
     

4. Pay the annual pack dues of $125 here. 

Total payment will be ~$300. 

Returning Scouts

1. [New for 2024!]  Returning Scouts must re-register individually through my.scouting.org.

   • https://my.scouting.org/tools/my-applications
     Click on the "My Renewals" tab

   • Payment online through scouting.org is ~$175 (including an optional $15 for a Scout Life magazine subscription)

   • Parents can renew their Scout's registration online two months before the membership expires.

     • For Scouts who joined 8/1/23 or later, re-registration is due 365 days from the date you joined.

     • For Scouts who joined prior to 8/1/23, re-registration is due by 12/31/24.
       
       

2. Pay membership fees along with pack dues of $125 here.

Total payment will be ~$300.

3. Fill-out, sign and email us back the signed copy of the Annual Health Consent Form - please fill out all three pages
   
   

Adult Membership 

Please note that only adults who take on certain leadership roles with Pack 30 (e.g. Den Leader) need to register through Scouting.org. We will contact you if you are required to register.

Pack 30 will reimburse registration costs for adult members.

Previously registered adult leaders can renew their registration online two months before the membership expires.

Additional Info Regarding Fees

We don't want the fees to be a hurdle for any family to join the pack. If you need financial aid, please email finance@berkeleypack30.org.

Pack Dues are collected each year to cover the costs of these great activities:

• Den meetings

• Pack meetings and events

• Hikes

• Camping trips with meals/snacks included

• Pinewood derby car race

• Structured community service opportunities

• Access to Scout camps and activities (Tiger Safari, Wolf and Bear Camp, Webeloree, shooting sports days, overnights, family camp, etc.)

• Access to Scout Summer Day Camp

Additional fees may be collected for some special events such as field trips, special activities in a campout, and pack apparel.  The Pack may need to cap enrollment in some special events and outings, including camping trips.

The pack also participates in an annual fundraising event and a scouting charity event to support additional costs and scouting causes.
